Sylvia Glastetter

NEW HAMBURG - Sylvia Marie Glastetter, 88, died at 4:35 p.m. Dec. 6, 2001, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

Born Nov. 1, 1913, in New Hamburg, daughter of the late Henry Jacob and Julia Marie Westrich Welter, she retired in 1973 from the housekeeping division of the Holiday Inn at Cape Girardeau. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, St. Ann's Sodality and the New Hamburg Senior Citizens.

On Aug. 27, 1932, at New Hamburg, she married Theon Wendolin Glastetter who preceded her in death on Sept. 11, 1970.

Survivors include: three sons, Norman Glastetter of Selma, Tenn., and Richard Glastetter and Raymond Glastetter of Chaffee; two daughters, Carol Jones and Wanda Brosey of Cape Girardeau; and 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were two sons, one daughter, four brothers, four sisters and one granddaughter.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton where parish prayers are scheduled for 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with the Rev. Normand Varone officiating.

Burial will follow in the St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery at New Hamburg.

Pallbearers will be: Bruce Glastetter, Danny Glastetter, Tyler Spaeth, Jeff Brosey, Doug Glastetter, Gabe Glastetter, Mike Glastetter, Gerard Glastetter, Justin Jones, Donnie Riley and Shawn Glastetter.
