KELSO - Charles Frank Robert, 88, died at 8:45 p.m. Dec. 5, 2001, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

Born March 6, 1913, in Kelso, son of the late Charles and Ida Hohmann Robert, he retired as a seam presser for Thorngate. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso and Knights of Columbus Council 6420 of Scott City.

On May 18, 1937, at New Hamburg, he married Caroline Stella Scherer who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Pat Robert of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Pius Robert of Kelso; three grandchildren, Stephanie Tew of Scott City, Nicole Robert of Kansas City and Gabe Robert of Cape Girardeau; and two great-grandsons, Tyler Stephens and Jordan Tew.

Six brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott city, where parish prayers at 6 p.m. will be followed by a Knights of Columbus service at 6:15 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Augustine Catholic Church with the Rev. Oliver Clavin officiating.

Burial will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery.
