Ollie Mae Getter

ESSEX - Ollie Mae Getter, 79, died Jan. 21, 2002, at the Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston.

Born April 12, 1922, at Marvel, Ark., to the late Bill and Mary Smith Jones, she had lived in Essex for the past 46 years. She was employed by Tyson Foods and was a member of the New Mount Zion Baptist Church near Essex.

Survivors include: one daughter, Mae Ida Whitaker of Essex; three sons, Robert Jones and Billy Joe Getter of Malden and Jesse James Getter of St. Louis; and 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from noon Saturday until time for services at 1 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Moses Grayson of Essex will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery in Malden.
