Ola Hastings

JACKSON - Ola Bernice Hastings, 86, formerly of Sikeston, died at 11:30 p.m. Jan. 2, 2002, at the Monticello House in Jackson.

Born April 27, 1915, in Jerusalem, Ark., to the late Lee Andrew Roper and Emma Mae Taylor Roper, she moved to Jackson in September 2001 after residing in Sikeston for many years. She was a member of Shady Acres Church of Christ in Sikeston.

She is survived by one son, Doyne Lee Kirtley of Phoenix, Ariz.; one stepson, Gale Hastings of Sikeston; one stepdaughter, Christa Patray of Statesboro, Ga.; and four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

A memorial service is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday at the Shady Acres Church of Christ with Pat Hogan, minister, officiating.

Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.

Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
