Delories Simmons
SCOTT CITY - Delories A. Simmons, 65, died at 8:31 p.m. Dec. 9, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Sept. 9, 1936, in Fornfelt, daughter of Helen Margaret Stone Brant of Scott City and the late Hugh Alvida Spriggs, she retired as an arrhythmia technician at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was a member of VFW Post 6407 Ladies Auxiliary in Scott City and American Legion Post 0389 Ladies Auxiliary and CB'ers Club in Chaffee.
On April 7, 1961, in Scott City, she married Lester Simmons who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: six sons, Steve Simmons of Advance, William Cochran, Tommie Cochran and Bruce Cochran of Scott City, Rodney Simmons of Cape Girardeau and Tracy Simmons of Los Angeles, Calif.; one daughter, Brenda Cochran of Dallas, Texas; one brother, Norman Brant of Scott City; three sisters, Alvida Nation and Mary Sue Wright of Scott City and Karry Dawn Brant of Cape Girardeau; one half brother, Oscar Spriggs of Louisville, Ky.; and four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were two daughters, Doris Jean Simmons and Donna Sue Robinson; and one sister, Rosie Hill.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Rennie Phillips, officiating.
Burial will follow in Lightner Memorial Cemetery.
