Motorists injured in accident

FRUITLAND - Two Dexter residents were injured in a

one-vehicle accident at 1:56 a.m. Tuesday as they

traveled south on Interstate 55 at Fruitland in Cape

Girardeau County.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Heather A.

Hardin, 18, fell asleep as she was driving and her

vehicle went off the left side of the roadway and

overturned.

Hardin sustained serious injuries and passenger Kelly

D. Affolder, 18, was moderately injured. Both were

transported by ambulance to Southeast Missouri

Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
