Claude Lovel

MORLEY - Claude L. Lovel, 80, died at 8:27 p.m. Jan. 19, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born June 28, 1921, in Blodgett, son of the late Arthur and Emma Wood Lovel, he was a ginner for the Vanduser Gin Company and U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

On May 18, 1946, in Benton, he married Velma Elsperman who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: three sons, Gary Dye of Jackson and Claude A. Lovel and James D. Lovel of Morley; two daughters, Peggy Frohock of Jackson and Sharon LeGrand of Maryland Heights; and 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

One son preceded him in death.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Morley Baptist Church. Howard Anderson, pastor of the Freewill Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the New Morley Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Jeff Dye, Claude A. Lovel Jr., James D. Lovel Jr., Jason D. Lovel, Ryan LeGrand and Ronnie Wren.
