Bob Beal

BLOOMFIELD - Bob L. Beal, 82, died Jan. 20, 2002, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.

Born Dec. 2, 1919, at Kinder, son of the late Fred and Alice Gillespie Beal, he graduated in 1939 from Bloomfield High School. He was a superintendent for Porter-Dewitt Construction Company in Poplar Bluff and for R. Clinton Construction Company in Sikeston before retiring. A member and past master of Bloomfield Masonic Lodge 153 AF&AM for more than 50 years, he was a 32nd degree Mason. He was also a member of Bloomfield Chapter 383 Order of the Eastern Star, of which he was a past worthy patron. A longtime member of the Stoddard County Central Committee, he also served as county chairman for many years. Beal and his wife were appointed as fee agents for the Stoddard County Bureau by Gov. Christopher Bond and Gov. John Ashcroft and served in this capacity from 1973-93.

On June 30, 1941, at Piggott, Ark., he married Inah Aslin who preceded him in death on June 23, 1983.

Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and David Gard and Ann and Bob Bye of Bloomfield; one sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Ken McCullough of Sikeston; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Ettie Mayo.

Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home where Masonic rites are scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield.
