Marie Prewett

BENTON - Marie Maxine Prewett, 80, died at 5 p.m. Feb. 27, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born July 10, 1921, in Los Angeles, Calif., daughter of the late Walter Morris and Cornelia Anna Mullensted Wainwright, she was manager of the J.J. Newberry and Company Cafeteria and of the Pentecostal belief.

On Nov. 1, 1968, she married James E. Prewett who preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 1989.

Survivors include: one son, Ronnie McKay of Bellflower, Calif.; one daughter, Connie Clark of Benton; and one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

Two brothers also preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Normand Varone will officiate.

Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.
