SIKESTON - Mrs. A.P. Sargent, who had been visiting her mother, Mrs. D.T. Smith in Memphis, Tenn., will return home today, accompanied by her daughter, Miss Kay, who is a student at Memphis State College and will spend the holidays with her parents.

SIKESTON - The 76-unit, three story senior citizen housing project, which is being built by Boyer Construction Co. on the corner of Cresap Place and Harris Street, is taking shape. Construction of the facility, which is ahead of schedule, is expected to be completed by October 1982. It is funded by Bootheel Senior Services Inc. and financed with federal funds.

SIKESTON - Fever, nausea and aching bodies have been playing havoc on area public school attendance. The recent flu outbreak left several classrooms near empty as both teachers and students missed school. But most officials report the absentee rate is improving. Twenty-two states last week reported outbreaks of influenza or flu-like illness, researchers at the national Centers for Disease Control said.

DEXTER - A few members of the Missouri National Guard's 1221st Transportation Company based in Dexter will be receiving additional tests and medical evaluations after showing a positive reaction to the skin test given on Dec. 7 for possible tuberculosis infection.
