Mary Jameson

DEXTER - Mary Jane Jameson, 72, died Jan. 22, 2002, at Missouri Southern Healthcare.

Born Aug. 25, 1929, in DeSoto, daughter of the late Ed and Mildred Burton, she lived in Bernie for 40 years before moving to Dexter two years ago. She attended the Assembly of God Church in Bernie.

On Aug. 2, 1950, in Arkansas, she married Cecil Jameson who preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 1984.

Survivors include: six daughters, Linda Francis and Tina Laird of Dexter, Patricia Hake, Vickie Heffel and Melanie Depke of St. Louis and Myra Elaine Cole of Naylor; one son, Edward Jameson of Bernie; one brother, Ed "Buddie" Burton of St. Louis; two sisters, Naomi Sanders of Columbia and Wanda June Hillis of Peoria, Ill.; and 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Cecil E. Jameson; and two daughters, Mary Jameson Thomas and Ruth Thrasher.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Vaughn Wright of Dexter will officiate.

Burial is scheduled for noon Friday at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis County.
