Allen Dickinson

ZALMA - Allen Dickinson, 72, died July 30, 2002, near Zalma.

Born Dec. 30, 1929, at McGee, son of the late Leslie Benjamin and Alma VanMatre Dickinson, he was a member of Shady Dell General Baptist Church at McGee and Zalma Masonic Lodge 545. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he was head sawyer at the Lemming Lumber Company in Cape Girardeau for more than 40 years before retiring.

Survivors include: one son, Steve Dickinson of Zalma; one brother, Hugh Dickinson of Bardwell, Ky.; two sisters, Carmen Randolph of Wood River, Ill, and Carol Dickinson of McGee; and two grandchildren.

One sister and two brothers preceded him in death.

Visitation is from 5:30 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance, where Masonic rites are scheduled for 7 p.m.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Bill Sargent officiating.

Burial will follow in the Brush Creek Cemetery near Arab.
