Grethel Richardson

NEW MADRID -- Grethel Richardson, 90, died July 15, 2007, at her home near New Madrid.

Born Jan. 20, 1917, in Osceola, Ark., to the late Pink and Hassie Allison, she was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church at LaForge, 4-H Club, Missionary Society, Agriculture Exchange and Order of the Eastern Star.

She married Willie Richardson who preceded her in death.

Two sons, three daughters, two brothers and four sisters also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: one son, Eric J. Richardson of New Madrid; one daughter, June Richardson Davis of St. Louis; one sister, Katherine Stovall of Omaha, Neb.; and 21 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Michael West will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Sandhill Cemetery.
