Kenny Williams
CAPE GIRARDEAU - C. Kenneth "Kenny" Williams, 70, formerly of St. Louis, died at 6:30 a.m. May 6, 2002, at the Lutheran Home.
Born Sept. 15, 1931, in Cape Girardeau, son of the late William Jasper Williams and Clara Luise Mirly Williams Landgraf, he lived in Cape Girardeau most of his life, where he was district manager for Southwestern Bell Telephone for 45 years. He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Kirkwood and the Southwestern Bell Telephone Pioneers. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he also played the trumpet with numerous bands and orchestras in the Cape and St. Louis areas.
On Oct. 15, 1983, he married Nancy Starke who survives.
Other survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Tom Campbell of Ballwin and Teresa and Mike Bean of Kansas City; one stepdaughter, Elizabeth Ponder of Cape Girardeau; his mother- and father-in-law, Edward C. and Elsie M. Starke of Crestwood; and 11 grandchildren, Joshua Dodds, Jonathan Dodds, Jennifer Campbell, Thomas Campbell, Colleen Campbell, Alex Campbell and Allan Campbell, Michael Bean, Tim Bean, Jennifer Bean and Casey Bean.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Louis Landgraf; and one sister, two brothers, one stepsister and two stepbrothers.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. Friday until service time at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Vernon Gunderman, of Concordia Lutheran Church in Kirkwood, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Pallbearers will be: Thomas A. Campbell, Thomas L. Campbell, Joshua Dodds, Jonathan Dodds, James K. Withers and Richard K. Withers.
Wilver Wessell will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Shelby Funeral Home of East Prairie is in charge of arrangements.
