David Markel

ST. LOUIS - David F. Markel, 61, died July 8, 2002, at St. Anthony's Medical Center in St. Louis.

Born Aug. 8, 1940, in St. Louis, son of the late Daniel F. and Cora L. Kinkel Markel, he was a member of the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers. He was also a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church and served on the Raintree P.O.A. Board of Directors.

His wife, Linda Woods Markel, formerly of Sikeston, survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Colleen Markel of Florida; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Dave Ellison, address unavailable; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Hoffmeister South County Chapel in St. Louis, where services are scheduled for noon Friday. The Rev. Jerry Douglas will officiate.

Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park in Affton.
