SIKESTON -- Noffel-Feuerhan took fourth place in the Musial League of Sikeston Area Youth Baseball this year, finishing with a record of 5-9.

The squad got off to a slow start, but finished strong, winning four of its last six games.

"Our goal was to end the season a lot better than we started, and that's how we did it," said Noffel head coach Ron Priday. "We started playing better as a team at the end."

Brady Culver was the starting pitcher and Ben Priday was behind the plate. The infield consisted of Will Holifield at first, Grant Hinton at second, Justin Hopkins at short and Blake Pobst at third.

LaParis Lewis, Garrett Alsup, Grant Watkins and Emily Brashear played the outfield.

Top performers on the team were Priday, Culver and Hopkins. "LaParis Lewis really struggled at the plate in the beginning, but by the end of the year, he was really hitting the ball real well," said Priday.

The Musial League title went to the Standard Democrat.

In the year-end tournament, Noffel won its first round game before losing in the semifinals.
