Call 471-6636

The birds. On Jan. 30, KFVS-TV 12 news said birds are causing problems with golf courses in some towns. They use sound devices to carry them off, but they only go somewhere else. That does not solve the problem. Some farmers have removed all fence rows and ditch banks to the center of the ditch. The birds do not have any place to roost. They've got to go somewhere, and it must be golf courses or in somebody's town. Quit raping our environment.

I'm calling in response to Lance Hanlin referring to the Tri-County "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" Conference, where he's bragging on Richland in his article. I noticed here that Richland lost a couple of games out of that conference and one game they had won by 2, and these teams aren't even at the top for the Tri-County Conference. Since when does the Standard Democrat have a sports writer?

I'm calling about the flooding problem in Miner and the new subdivision. I live next door to it and right now it looks like a lake. I wonder what the city is going to do about it. They won't tell us anything at city hall.
