Larry Godbey
PARMA - Melvin Larry Godbey, 58, died June 13, 2002, in Kentland, Ind.
Born March 6, 1944, in Raub, Ind., son of Mary Lois Godby Godbey of Rensselaer, Ind., and the late Morris Hardin Godbey, he was an over-the-road truck driver. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Risco, Mo.
On March 27, 1970, near Malden, he married Alicia Hamlett who survives of the home.
Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include: four sons and three daughters-in-law, Jim Godbey of Risco, Jon and Susan Godbey of Chattanooga, Tenn., Rodney and Stephanie Godbey of Cape Girardeau, Lawrence and Carrie Godbey of Louisville, Ky.; three brothers, Paul Godbey of Fowler, Ind., Roger Godby of Rensselaer, John Godby of Houston, Texas; five sisters, Wanda Brandon of Malden, Pat Schuringa of Kentland, Ann Fording of Fowler, Betty Fording of Kentland, Cindy Wolverton of Oxford, Ind.; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted June 16 at the First Baptist Church in Kentland.
Burial followed in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Kentland.
Stitz Funeral Home of Kentland, Ind., was in charge of arrangements.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. June 30 at the Risco First Baptist Church.
