Charles Hammon
SIKESTON - Charles Hammon, 75, died June 26, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
Born April 19, 1927, in Clay County, Ark., son of the late Lester Sylvester and Tolleese Manola Williams Hammon, he was a lineman for the Sikeston Board of Municipal Utilities for 25 years before retiring.
On Sept. 24, 1950, in Piggott, Ark., he married Alice Nadine Jeffries who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: five sons and four daughters-in-law, Charles Gordan and Vickie Hammon, Sylvester Gilbert and Kathy Hammon and Duane Keith Hammon of Sikeston, Randal Lee "Randy" and Gala Hammon of Bloomfield and David Michael and Debbie Hammon of Ste. Genevieve; three daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela Kay and Steve Richmond, Alice Faye and Scott Baker and Sheila Mae and Bobby Long of Sikeston; one brother, Leo Hammon of Poplar Bluff; one sister, Anna Worley of Poplar Bluff; and 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two infant brothers, his twin, Cleo Hammon, and Billy Hammon.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ponder Funeral Home, where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday.
Burial will follow in the Marble Hill Cemetery at Poplar Bluff.
