Walter Hitt Jr.
CAPE GIRARDEAU - Walter Hitt Jr., 84, died at 9 p.m. June 26, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
Born Feb. 21, 1918, at Arbor, son of the late Walter Jefferson and Alice Anetta Adkison Hitt, he was a retired aerospace inspector for Menasco Manufacturing Inc., in Burbank, Calif.
He was first married to Helen Ingalls who preceded him in death.
He then married Clarise Gurley who preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by one son, five brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include: two daughters, Joyce McDougald of Granada Hills, Calif., and Alice Marie MacKay of Shingletown, Calif.; three sisters, Lucille Friese of Cape Girardeau, Alice Henry of Perryville and Marie Dooley of Chaffee; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday.
Pallbearers will be: Andy Pope, Bobby Henry, David White, Grayson Glueck, Mitchell White and Todd Schaefer.
Burial will follow in Hobbs Chapel Cemetery near Cape Girardeau.
