Mary Gentry
HANNIBAL - Mary F. Gentry, 75, died at 11:05 a.m. Sept. 9, 2002, at the Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Born Feb. 6, 1927, in Lamar, Ark., daughter of the late Fred and Alberta Bradley Harmon, she graduated from Oran High School, received her degree from Culver-Stockton College at Canton and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, Iota Chapter. During her 32 years as an educator, she taught at Central School and Pettibone School, retiring in 1979. She was a member of the Arch United Methodist Church and had served on the church board.
On Aug. 1, 1948, at Oran, she married Merrill F. Gentry who preceded her in death on June 18, 1997.
Survivors include: three sisters and one brother-in-law, Hazel Anthony and Josephine and Joe Tate of Oran and Imogene Uptain of Concord, Calif.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred and Thelma Harmon of Portageville and Bob and Ernestine Harmon of Godfrey, Ill.; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, the Clayton and Nancy Baldwin family of Hannibal.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Smith Funeral Home in Hannibal, where a Delta Kappa Gamma remembrance service is scheduled for 7:45 p.m.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Huck officiating.
Graveside services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau with Dr. Mark Inman officiating.
Pallbearers will be: Gerald Noland, Wes McGowan, Jay Miller, Becker Spaun, Chuck Harris and Clay Baldwin.
