SIKESTON - Lois Krauss, 87, died at 10:22 a.m. Oct. 27, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center. Born March 12, 1916, in East Prairie, daughter of the late Rev. A.E. and Maude Owen Ray, she was a homemaker and charter member of Temple Baptist Church, where she had been a Sunday school teacher. Also a Sunday school teacher for Miner Baptist Church, she played the piano at religious services in several area churches throughout her adult life...

SIKESTON - Lois Krauss, 87, died at 10:22 a.m. Oct. 27, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born March 12, 1916, in East Prairie, daughter of the late Rev. A.E. and Maude Owen Ray, she was a homemaker and charter member of Temple Baptist Church, where she had been a Sunday school teacher. Also a Sunday school teacher for Miner Baptist Church, she played the piano at religious services in several area churches throughout her adult life.

On Jan. 11, 1933, in East Prairie, she married Charles W. Krauss who preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 1998.

Survivors include: one son, Orville Krauss of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Janet Spitler and Karen McKinnie of Sikeston; one brother, the Rev. Lawrence Ray of Newport, Tenn.; one sister, Bertha King of Albuquerque, N.M.; and nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, Herman Ray and Owen Ray, also preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Dolan Rogers, pastor of Temple Baptist Church and the Rev Delbert Bishop of Bement Baptist Church will officiate.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
