Maxine Pomirko
CHARLESTON - Maxine S. Pomirko, 80, died at 6:45 a.m. Aug. 18, 2002, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.
Born Sept. 15, 1921, in Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Peter "Pete" and Ammer Shankle Scott. She lived in St. Louis most of her life, where she was a teacher in the Berkeley School District until retiring in 1983, when she moved to Gilbertsville, Ky. She returned to Charleston in 1997, where she was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Barbara Pomirko of St. Charles and Steve and Debbie Pomirko of Houston, Texas; one sister, Imogene Wilson of Bondville, Ill.; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Five brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
Services will be private.
