Lula Corn

SCOTT CITY -- Lula Novella Corn, 90, died at 9:45 a.m. Sept. 28, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Jan. 7, 1912, in Swinton, daughter of the late Melton John and Lilly Bell Moore Phillips, she had been a seamstress for Ely Walker Co. in Scott City.

On Sept. 7, 1933, she married Youal Edna Corn who preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 1962.

Survivors include: two sons, Gene Harty of Melrose, Iowa, and Youal Ray Corn of St. Louis; one daughter, Carol Coulter of Scott City; three sisters, Violet Hawkins of Amarillo, Texas, Flora Winchester of Cairo, Ill., and Delores Walker of Alton, Ill.; and six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Two sons, four brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Larry Lacey will officiate.

Burial will follow in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
