Speakout 10/4

Monday, October 4, 2004

I am calling about the Miner Police Department. I really have a lot of trouble with them. I am a law abiding citizen and don't try to do anything to hurt anybody but I am continually being pulled over for no apparent reason. I get tickets that aren't even justified. I have to hire attorneys and go to court over these tickets. I am afraid to drive through town anymore. I know people who live over there and take longer routes to go visit them. I don't even want to be in Miner. The police department is getting out of hand, as far as I'm concerned. It seems like they are out to harass people more than help them. When my sons call the police to report something like a car being vandalized, nothing is done. They come out and act like it is an imposition to take a report. I thought the police were supposed to be there to help people, not to harass them and make life miserable for them.

I live in Morehouse. My water bill is $85 a month and they claim I have a water leak but I do not have a leak. Others complain too. How can I rectify this? What can we do or who can we contact to get this checked out? My water bill is more than my electric and gas put together. Please put the information in SpeakOut.

The water bills went up because the citizens approved a bond issue in August 2002 to upgrade the water plant, to put a sewer system at West Acres and the increase of the water bill pays for the city's bond issue

How many heard the wonderful speech at noon with Bush and his buddy in Iraq? How many times are they going to try to fool the people? This is election year, so naturally they are going to be buddy-buddy. All Bush wants is oil and all the Iraqi leaders want is money. Please remember this when you vote in November. They are losing our wonderful boys over there. They are tearing up our wonderful country here. The last year they are trying to put it back together. What a joke! Let's get rid of this man.

Our government, along with President Bush, extended the tax cut yesterday. This is just what we need, the working people gets to keep more of the money they earn. It doesn't cost the government anything. It is our money - we earned it. Thank you, President Bush. You have my vote. I like keeping the money I work hard for.

I was in a restaurant this morning for breakfast and saw the cook preparing food. He was not wearing gloves and was scratching his head. When I asked the cashier about this, she said it wasn't mandatory for them to wear gloves. These restaurants need to be inspected.

Call your county health department with this information.
