Missing man is found in Memphis

Friday, April 25, 2003

SIKESTON -- A 58-year-old man who walked away from Hunter Acres Nursing Home last Monday is back in custody and under arrest.

According to Sikeston Department of Public Safety Director Drew Juden, Glenn Miller was in the nursing home under a court order and violated the order when he left without permission of the court. A warrant for escape from commitment was then issued.

After tracking Miller to Illinois, around the Effingham area, contact was lost until he was located in a hospital in Memphis, Tenn., Tuesday afternoon. Detectives from Sikeston DPS worked with the hospital security and Shelby County, Tenn., Sheriff's office, cooridinating Miller's arrest after his release from the hospital Tuesday.

Miller was to appear and waive extradition in Shelby County Court on Thursday and Scott County Sheriff's deputies are scheduled to bring him back to Sikeston today.
