Bruce Vaughn

MOREHOUSE -- Samuel "Bruce" Vaughn, 62, died May 11, 2002, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Oct. 2, 1940, in Hickman, Ky., son of the late William and Katie Carroll Vaughn, he had lived in East Prairie most of his life before moving to Morehouse four years ago. He was a retired foreman with a dairy farm.

Survivors include: one son, Samuel Bruce Vaughn Jr. of Olney, Ill.; two daughters, Diana Rainey of Toma, Wis., and Theresa Smith of Gurnee, Ill.; three stepsons, Raymond Ross of Senatobia, Miss., and Kenneth Bowman and Charles Bowman of Grant City; three stepdaughters, Joyce Zook of Sikeston, Patricia Patrick of East Prairie and Susan Newton of Pulaski, Tenn.; two sisters, Kay Higgins of Anniston and Ida Cobb of Poplar Bluff; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, James Vaughn, Clifton Vaughn and Roy Vaughn; one sister, Mary Vaughn; and one grandchild.

Visitation is from noon until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the East Prairie Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Burnes of Grant City officiating.
