CAPE GIRARDEAU - Granville Ted Yarbrough, 86, died July 1, 2004, at the Missouri Veterans Home.

Born March 11, 1918, in Casa, Ark., son of the late James T. and Florence Hubbard Yarbrough, he was a brick mason before retiring. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. In 1949, he married Edna Olene Hartlein who preceded him in death on May 17, 1974.

Survivors include: four sons, Ronald Hartlein of Jackson, Jimmy Yarbrough of Franklin, Tenn., Charles Yarbrough of Rapid City, S.D., and David Yarbrough of Matthews; two daughters, Betty Rodgers of Kingman, Ariz., and Florence Ditto of East Prairie; three sisters, Marie Holmes and Lottie Mon of Oran and Rose Collins of Kansas City; and 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one son, Mason Yarbrough; and one brother, Cpl. Mason O. Yarbrough.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. Monday until service time at 2 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. The Rev. D.R. Heitman, pastor of the Matthews Nazarene Church, will officiate.

Burial with full military honors will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: David Yarbrough II, Steven Runnerstrom, Bob Rogers, LeRoy Holmes, Glen Holmes and Bill Holmes.
