Julius Fair

LILBURN, Ga. - Julius Fair, 84, formerly of Charleston, Mo., died June 24, 2004.

Born Jan. 5, 1920, in Cairo, Ill., son of the late Dan and Gertrude Fair, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was the recipient of three Bronze Stars. He was a mechanic and owned and operated Julius' Garage until 1970. He then worked for Breuderman's Grocery Store until retiring in 1999. A founder of The Ten Tall Ones Club in Charleston, he also had served as the club's president.

On March 30, 1946, he married Cora Meeks who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Joyce Fair and Grace Fair of Lilburn; and one sister, Angelene Davis of Kansas City, Mo.

Visitation is from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Home in Charleston.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Perry Chapel AME Church in Charleston.

Full graveside military rites will be conducted Tuesday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
