Anna Chafin

WAPPAPELLO - Anna L. Chafin, 74, died Nov. 13, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Nov. 6, 1928, in Fremont, Mich., daughter of the late Forest Wilson and Addie Page Wilson, she was of the Baptist belief. She was a member of VFW Post 3416 Ladies Auxiliary since 1983 and served as the 15th district president and treasurer for 17 years.

On Oct. 3, 1953, in Fremont, she married Freddie Marlin Chafin who preceded her in death on Jan. 24, 1993.

Survivors include: one son, Larry Chafin of Williamsville; one daughter, Carolyn Lewis of Poplar Bluff; one brother, Leigh Wilson of Muskegon, Mich.; one sister, Pat Mecoff of Muskegon; and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

One brother, Forest Wilson, also preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Larie Burdine will officiate.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
