Vera Pressley

ST. LOUIS - Vera Virginia Pressley, 78, died April 27, 2003, at St. Alexius Hospital in St. Louis.

Born Jan. 19, 1925, in Blytheville, Ark., daughter of the late John Elmer and Connie Mae Overman Davis, she was a machine operator for the Caranth Manufacturing Co. in St. Louis before retiring.

Survivors include: one son, Felton Smith of St. Louis; three brothers, Lex J. Davis of Malden, Donald L. Davis of Ozark, Ark., and Ronald Gene Davis of Campbell; two sisters, Katherine Harline of Springfield and Betty Mae Moore of Campbell; and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Davis and Everett Davis; and one sister, Norma Lee Dildine.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. Wednesday until service time at 2 p.m. at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie. The Rev. Andy Evans will officiate.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden.
