SIKESTON - Sgt. Eugene Harris of the State Highway Patrol and his wife celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary and today the sergeant is receiving congratulation on having completed 25 years of service to the patrol.

SIKESTON - A large crowd turned out to watch the 40th Annual Cotton Carnival Parade Saturday in downtown Sikeston. Floats competed for $100 in each of four categories. The Sikeston Nutrition Center senior citizens float won the theme category. The Women's Division of the Chamber of Commerce was the winner in the business category.

SIKESTON - Brittany Paige McDonald, daughter of Duke and Pat McDonald of Sikeston, was chosen the Junior Miss Queen of the Delta Fair in Kennett. First alternate was Ashley Battles, 14, daughter of Tony and Elaine Pursell of Dexter; and second alternate, Rochelle DeLisle, 14, daughter of John and Celia DeLisle of New Madrid.

SIKESTON - The September Best Citizens for the Sikeston Kindergarten Center were recently announced. They are: Emily Taylor, Madeline Nowell, Lindsey Mercer, Logan LaPlante, Ryan Maddox, Randy Smith, Gerald Howard and Logan Hampton.
