BENTON - The low bid from Kinder Signs and Design Co. in Sikeston for new striping on Scott County Sheriff's Department patrol cars was approved by county commissioners during their regular meeting Tuesday.

Kinder's original bid was $9 less than the next lowest bid, according to Sheriff Rick Walter, but was lowered by the vendor to $230 after reducing the design's overall size slightly.

"They're going to be able to save material," Walter said.

Commissioner Jamie Burger noted the design is "kind of generic."

"I'm not going to put my name on any," Walter said. "They belong to the county, not to Rick Walter."
