Evelyeene DeRousse

SCOTT CITY - Evelyeene DeRousse, 88, died Aug. 19, 2002, at Rivers Run Health Care in Cape Girardeau.

Born June 20, 1914, in Anniston, daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson and Mary Alice Edgman Hockersmith, she was a lunchroom cook for Prairie DuRocher (Ill.) Elementary School before retiring. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City.

On Feb. 14, 1942, at Fornfelt, she married Elmer G. DeRousse who preceded her in death on Sept. 6, 1969.

She is survived by three sisters, Irene Phipps and Aleene Ellinger of Scott City and Dorothy Wasson of East Prairie.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Visitation will continue from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until time for a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Prairie DuRocher. The Rev. Albert Krerer will officiate.

Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery at Prairie DuRocher.
