Jewell Stafford

HAYWARD - Jewell Marie Stafford, 63, died April 10, 2003, at her home.

Born Aug. 31, 1939, in Portageville, she was the daughter of Irene McMahan Johnson of Hayward and the late Kenneth Johnson.

On Oct. 18, 1955, in Hernando, Miss., she married Walter Paul Stafford who survives of the home.

Survivors in addition to her husband and mother include: two sons, Michael Dewayne Stafford and Gregory Keith Stafford of Portageville; one daughter, Paula Marie Ezell of Portageville; seven brothers, Bud Johnson, Bob Johnson, Don Johnson and Mike Johnson of Portageville, Ken Johnson of DuQuoin, Ill., John Johnson of Jonesboro, Ark., and Gene Johnson of Elizabethtown, Ky.; four sisters, Joyce Johnson of Pima, Ariz., Lois Fincher of Sikeston and Dinah Manass and Kay Cook of Portageville; and 10 grandchildren.

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Royal Roberts and Michael Dewayne Stafford will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
