EAST PRAIRIE - Shawn Michael "Mikey" Lorenz, 5, died Feb. 17, 2005, at the St. Louis Children's Hospital following injuries received in an automobile accident on Feb. 13, 2005.
Born October 15, 1999, in Poplar Bluff to George Terry Lorenz, who survives of Van Buren, and Lois Ann Reed, who survives of East Prairie, he had lived in East Prairie most of his life where he was a member of Mrs. Beth's Head Start Class and attended St. James Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his parents are three brothers, Matthew Wayne Lorenz, Rusty Vela and Joey Vela of Van Buren; his paternal grandmother, Bessie M. Belt of Van Buren; maternal grandparents, Salley and Patrick Guidury of Baton Rouge, La., and Howard and Shelia Reed of Van Buren; adopted grandparents, Jo and Tracy Sutherland of Van Buren and Connie and Steve Powers of East Prairie; and his great-grandmothers, Vivian Reed of Ironton, Darlene Sutherland of Van Buren and Lois Powers of East Prairie.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston until time for services at 11 a.m. Walter Bryars of East Prairie will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
