CHARLESTON - Jennie Ruth Chronister, 72, died at 10:39 a.m. Feb. 18, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Feb. 25, 1932, in Mississippi County, daughter of the late Walter and Martha Helen Scheffler McCormick, she was a lifelong resident of Charleston. She worked in the Brown Shoe Company Commissary until retiring in 1960 and was a member of the Elm Street Baptist Church, where she served as treasurer for 20 years.

On Oct. 19, 1950, she married Johnnie Chronister who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Karen Chronister of Sikeston; one daughter and son-in-law, Apostle Deborah and Robert L. Byrne of Sikeston; two sisters, Helen Willard of Buchanan Dam, Texas, and Betty Hodges of Festus; and six grandchildren and seven great-

grandchildren.

Five great-grandchildren preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. Monday until time for a eulogy service at 11 a.m. at McMikle Funeral Home. Her daughter will officiate.

Graveside services will follow at the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston with Pastor Dolan Rogers officiating.

Pallbearers will be: Bob Byrne, Micah Byrne, Keith Chronister, Scott Chronister, Jimmy Powell and Mike McMillan.
