Johnny Nimmo
SIKESTON - Johnny Eugene Nimmo, 72, died at 5:03 a.m. April 8, 2003, at his home.
Born Jan. 27, 1931, in Morehouse, son of the late John Luther and Jenny Catherine Frazier Nimmo, he worked at the Sikeston Power Station for 15 years and was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. He had also been a member of Carpenter's Local 618 in Cape Girardeau.
On Jan. 10, 1949, in Dexter, he married Barbara Jane Woods who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Johnny Eugene Nimmo Jr. of Sikeston and Wayne Lee Harris of Mayfield, Ky.; three daughters, Connie Sue Bolen and Sandria Gene Costin of Sikeston and Patty Faye Bolen of Wappapello; one brother, Jerry Ray Nimmo of Sikeston; two sisters, Wanda Tippy and Estelle Oliver of Sikeston; and 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Jerry Adams, pastor, and the Rev. Tom McCanless will officiate.
Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Michael Bolen Jr., Matt Bolen, Eric Harris, John Riley, Troy Riley and Jason Cope.
Honorary pallbearer will be Tyler Lockwood.
