Glenda Scheffer

WHEELING, Ill. - Glenda Faye Scheffer, 60, formerly of Charleston, Mo., and the state of California, died at 8:50 p.m. April 13, 2003, at her home.

Born May 3, 1942, in East Prairie, Mo., daughter of the late Jimmy and Thelma Allen Smith, she was a member of St. Emily Catholic Church in Wheeling.

On Jan. 16, 1960, she married Berisimo Albert Scheffer Sr. who preceded her in death on June 20, 1995.

Survivors include: four sons, Berisimo Albert Scheffer Jr. of Ontario Calif., Timothy Scheffer of Montclair, Calif., and David Scheffer and Douglas Scheffer of Apple Valley, Calif.; two daughters, Cynthia Kennedy of Wheeling and Angelia Cobb of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; one brother, Dewey Smith of Wisconsin; one sister, Myrtle Smith of East Prairie; and 15 grandchildren.

One brother, Willie Smith, and one sister, Judith Irby, also preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, where rosary prayers will be recited at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston with the Rev. Ed Nichols, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Richard Kennedy Jr., Richard Kennedy III, Marc Cobb, Joshua Cobb, Bryan Gibson and Mark Cobb Jr.
