Kathern Clay

PORTAGEVILLE - Kathern E. Clay, 89, died April 24, 2003, at Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital in Hayti.

Born March 20, 1914, in Portageville, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Myrtle Duckworth Lewis.

On Feb. 13, 1932, in Portageville, she married Harry Clay who preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 1969.

Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Dick and Patricia Clay of Jonesboro, Ark., and Donald and Mary Carolyn Clay of Norfolk, Va.; one daughter, Delphia Clay Anderson of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; one sister, Monie Short of Lorain, Ohio; and three grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Marie Lane, Mary Emma Catanzeriet and Joy Brown; and two brothers, Murshel Lewis and Otibe Lewis.

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. Saturday at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday with Dr. Tom Walls, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
