Geneva Smith
EAST PRAIRIE -- Geneva Smith, 72, died at 2:45 a.m. April 26, 2003, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.
Born Jan. 5, 1931, in Bruston, Tenn., daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Greer Prince, she lived in East Prairie most of her life and was a member of the Free Will Pentecostal Church in Immokalee, Fla.
On May 23, 1973, she married William "Sonny" Smith who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Robert Ripperdan of East Prairie; one daughter, Debbie Ripperdan of Fort Meyers, Fla.; two brothers, Tommy Prince of LaBelle, Fla., and Herschel Prince of Branson; and two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Judy Sills; one brother, Frederick Prince; and two sisters, Minnie Boswell and Imogene Boyer.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. David Dowdy will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
