Lucille York
JACKSON - Lucille Marie Lovell York, 95, died Oct. 5, 2004, at the Jackson Manor.
Born Sept. 4, 1909, in Dorchester, Ill., daughter of the late John Harmon and Maymie Caroline Gorham Lovell, she had operated York's Highway 51 Service Station at Lutesville, which she sold in 1974 and then moved to Lutesville. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church in Marble Hill.
On Nov. 27, 1928, in St. Louis, she married Joseph L. York who preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 1964.
Survivors include: two sons, Edward L. York of Benton and Robert L. York of Glen Allen; one daughter, Myrna F. Cheek of Morley; one brother, Robert Lovell of New Castle, Ind.; and seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were three sons, Norman E. York, Allen K. York and John W. York; two brothers, George York and Norman York; three sisters, Hazel York, Frances York and Marcella York; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted at 11 a.m. today at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill with the Rev. Delbert Bishop officiating.
Burial followed in the Baker Cemetery at Marble Hill.
Pallbearers were: Daniel Heuring, Wade Amelunge, Bob Anderson, John Price and Dean Surface.
