Bernice Hoppe
SIKESTON - Bernice Hoppe, 83, died March 13, 2003, at her home.
Born Jan. 11, 1920, in Poplar Bluff, daughter of the late Franklin and Beulah Burton Armstrong, she was a member of the United Church of God in Cape Girardeau. A licensed practical nurse, she was employed by the Sikeston Regional Center before retiring and served as a volunteer at Missouri Delta Medical Center for 12 years.
Her husband, Lloyd A. Hoppe, preceded her in death in November 1973. She later married John Pyatt and he died in March 1989.
Survivors include: four sons, Richard A. Hoppe of Indianapolis, Ind., Donald Hoppe of Plainview, Texas, Dennis M. Hoppe of St. Louis and Robert F. Hoppe of Sikeston; and seven grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one stepgreat-grandchild.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday. David Johnson, pastor of the United Church of God, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Poplar Bluff.
