NEW HAMBURG -- Timothy and Jeanne Essner and Joseph and Margaret Heuring have announced the engagement of their children, Leonna Danielle Essner to Dean Patrick Heuring.
A 1998 graduate of Thomas W. Kelly High School, the future bride is the granddaughter of Dale and Dotty Huff of Benton, Corona "Coonie" Essner of Cape Girardeau and the late Vera Huff and Leon Essner. She earned a bachelor's degree in mass communication with an emphasis in journalism from Southeast Missouri State University in May 2002 and is a reporter for the Standard Democrat in Sikeston.
The prospective bridegroom graduated in 1991 from Thomas W. Kelly High School and is the grandson of Bill Chapman of Chaffee and the late Lawrence and Clara Heuring and LaRue Chapman. He is the parts manager for Mid America Power Equipment in Cape Girardeau.
Plans are being finalized for an Oct. 4 wedding at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg.
