CHARLESTON - Mary B. Brown, 82, died at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 4, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born Jan. 28, 1921, in Columbus, Ky., daughter of the late James H. and Carrie Boyd Jones, she lived most of her life in Charleston, where she was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was secretary for the Associated Natural Gas Company in Charleston for 30 years before retiring in 1987.

On May 17, 1941, she married Paul Brown, who preceded her in death on May 15, 1985.

Survivors include: three daughters, Dolly Martin of Charleston, Paula Skelton of Scott City and Brenda Marberry of Desloge; one sister, Virginia Wright of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Three brothers, J.H. Jones, Tom Jones and Earl Jones, also preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Gerald Collier, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.

Pallbearers will be: Billy Martin, Michael Skelton, Greg French, Tyler Martin, Jeff Skelton and Richard Toon.
