JACKSON - The Sikeston soccer team fell to 7-10-1 on the season with a 3-1 loss to Jackson on Tuesday.
After a scoreless half, Sikeston got the lead on a goal by Ryan Beaird at the 47:00 mark. He was assisted by J.R. Bizzell.
But the lead didn't last as Jackson scored three goals in a 10 minute span.
Tanner Walton scored two goals and assisted on a Carl Fuchs goal to give the Indians the win.
"We played alright, but it's a little frustrating," said Sikeston head coach Derrick Long. "We get the lead and we let them score three goals in the last few minutes. We're having trouble finishing the game. We had a lot of breakaways that we couldn't put away tonight. They had a couple fluke goals that went their way. We just didn't take advantage of their mistakes like they did with ours."
Sikeston attempted 26 shots to Jackson's 19.
Jason Deere had 15 saves for the Bulldogs.
Sikeston will host Kennett on Thursday at 4 p.m.
In the junior varsity game, Tarryl Booker scored two goals to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 win.
Assists came from Kyle Howard and Chris Matthews. Goalkeeper Cody Cooper provided the shutout.
Sikeston's junior varsity improves to 6-4-3.
