DURAND, Mich. -- Woodrow Wilson Evens, 88, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., died June 25, 2005, at the Durand Convalescent Center. Born Feb. 17, 1917, in Copmish, to the late William Robert Mott and Emma Johnson Evens, he had served in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from A.C. Spark Plugs in Flint. He had belonged to the V.F.W. in Swartz Creek and was a Boy Scout leader for many years...

DURAND, Mich. -- Woodrow Wilson Evens, 88, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., died June 25, 2005, at the Durand Convalescent Center.

Born Feb. 17, 1917, in Copmish, to the late William Robert Mott and Emma Johnson Evens, he had served in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from A.C. Spark Plugs in Flint. He had belonged to the V.F.W. in Swartz Creek and was a Boy Scout leader for many years.

On Feb. 14, 1975, in Sikeston, he married Emma Cowgur, who preceded him in death on June 11, 2000.

Several brothers and sisters also preceded him in death.

Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Ruth Evens of Durand and Michael and Luci Evens of Gaines; two daughters and sons-in-

law, Patricia and Ed Pierce of Durand and Diana and Bob Yelland of Davisberg; one brother, Paul Evens of Cadillac; and 10 grandchildren and 10 great-

grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Garden of Memories Cemetery with his nephew, Steve McPheeters of Sikeston, officiating.

Nunnelee Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
