EAST PRAIRIE - Lottie Kathaleen Adkisson, 91, died at 8:15 a.m. June 27, 2005, at the East Prairie Nursing Center. Born Nov. 10, 1913, in East Prairie, daughter of the late John Daniel and Grace Ellen Moore Metheny, she lived most of her life in Mississippi County where she was a member of the First Church of God. She and her late husband farmed and she also kept children as a babysitter for several years...

EAST PRAIRIE - Lottie Kathaleen Adkisson, 91, died at 8:15 a.m. June 27, 2005, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.

Born Nov. 10, 1913, in East Prairie, daughter of the late John Daniel and Grace Ellen Moore Metheny, she lived most of her life in Mississippi County where she was a member of the First Church of God. She and her late husband farmed and she also kept children as a babysitter for several years.

On Oct. 7, 1933, in Whiting, she married Manuel Adkisson, who preceded her in death on July 29, 1978.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Ann Adkisson; one brother, Dan Metheny; two sisters, Irene Fussell and Hallene Partain; and one son-in-law, Ronald Compton.

Survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Gary Lee and Jeanne Adkisson of East Prairie and Johnnie Adkisson of Van Buren; one daughter, Grace Ellen Compton of East Prairie; and by eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled for 5 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday with Bill Adkisson officiating.

Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Corey Adkisson, Jacob Tripp, Shannon Bowles, Steven Galemore, Ron Compton and Robert Asperger.
