Earl Bennett

BERNIE - Earl Bennett, 95, died Sept. 25, 2003, at his home.

Born Oct. 19, 1907, in Fredericktown, son of the late Nathan and Cora Fox Bennett, he lived in Parma before moving to Bernie in 1969. He was a member of the Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in Bernie.

On Oct. 12, 1928, he married Lura Glass who preceded him in death on Oct. 14, 1981.

Survivors include: one stepdaughter, Phyllis Rushing of Dexter; one sister, Louise Ellis of Granite City, Ill.; three stepgrandchildren, William Michael Rushing, Robert Ryan Rushing and Donald Burch Jr.; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

Also preceding him in death were four brothers, Carl Bennett, Buford Bennett, Winford Bennett and Otis Bennett; and one sister, Mildred George.

Visitation begins at 9 a.m. Saturday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter with the Rev. Stanley Wallace of Farmington officiating.
