Lena Stroud
DEXTER - Lena Mildred Baker Stroud, 84, died Sept. 3, 2003, at Three Rivers Healthcare North Campus in Poplar Bluff.
Born April 1, 1919, in Jasper, Ark., daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Breedlove Baker, she was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Bloomfield. She had worked in the housekeeping department at the Dexter Nursing Center.
On Dec. 14, 1941, in New Madrid, she married Edward Leslie Stroud who preceded her in death on July 22, 1989.
One daughter, Pat Dodson, preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son, Roger Stroud of Dexter; four daughters, Dorothy Sexton of Bloomfield and Debra Stroud, Pebel Frederick and Candace Warren of Dexter; one sister, Eileen Shatswell of Kansas City; and 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. David Hardin will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Essex Cemetery.
